On August 12, 2025, the City of Akron officially declared “Mack Concrete – Akron Site Day” during a ceremony at Mack Concrete’s Akron ready mix plant, honoring the company’s enduring legacy and community impact
Mack Concrete’s Akron facility, operating for 30 years since acquiring Guran Concrete in 1994–1995, has grown impressively—from just three trucks to nearly thirty—and has remained a dependable partner through economic challenges like the Great Recession and the global pandemic.
The plant’s strategic location—with excellent access to highways and rail—has helped it deliver concrete to some of Akron’s most notable projects, including:
Akron Children’s Hospital
Summa Health facilities
University of Akron
Akron Rubber Ducks stadium
Goodyear and Bridgestone headquarters
Akron Art Museum
Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel
Under four generations of Mack family, the company’s mission emphasizes teamwork, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and long-term commitment—to both projects and people. CEO Betsy Mack Nespeca expressed gratitude for the City’s recognition and reaffirmed their dedication to serving Akron with excellence in the years ahead.
Founded 93 years ago in Valley City, Ohio, Mack Concrete continues to expand under the Mack Industries umbrella, offering ready-mixed concrete across Northeast Ohio.
