Mack Industries is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team. Working alongside the Quality Control manager to perform and document quality control inspections on all types of precast concrete products. This position will require ACI Field testing Technician Level 1
Certification, basic computer skills and willingness to expand on current abilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs pre-pour inspections on all forms, reinforcements steel and inserts in a timely manner to maintain optimized workflow

  • Looks for opportunities to improve material, processes and products

  • Quality Control Technician tests and inspects material and product at various stages of the production process in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment

  • Identify, document, and report any quality problems to production or QA manager

  • Read and interpret product layouts, engineering blueprints, schematic diagrams, and formula mixes

  • Communicates with batch plant daily regarding mix performance and adjusts as necessary

  • Acting as onsite customer service representative

  • Organizes, prepares documents for data entry

  • Enters data into database software and check to ensure the accuracy of the data

  • Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents

  • Perform supervisory responsibilities for the delivery drivers

  • Perform a wide range of administrative duties

  • Willingness to develop new skills and progress current skills

  • Willingness to assist other departments as needed

  • Willingness to make difficult decisions even when it’s not popular

  • Assist with problem solving activities

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance a plus but not required

  • Experience can replace education

  • ACI Field Testing Technician Level 1 Certification preferred but not required

Physical Strain:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs on occasion

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to squat, crawl and kneel to complete tasks

Work Environment

  • The work areas are partly climate controlled. Ambient temperatures and humidity will be the norm inside and out.

  • Due to the nature of the operation, the levels of noise, dust and dirt can be very high.
