Mack Industries Septic System

The Equalizer 24 Chamber System
for Septic Leachfields

The Equalizer 24 chamber is a direct replacement for old-fashioned stone and pipe leachfields installed in 2-foot wide trenches. You dig exactly the same length of trench as usual, then install Equalizer 24 chambers in less than half the time of a labor-intensive stone and pipe job. It's that simple.

System efficiency.
When you install the patented Equalizer 24 chambers, you actually get 43% more system in the same space! That's because the Equalizer 24 chamber has 43% more infiltrative capacity built in foot-per-foot than a conventional leachfield of the same size. That means more peace of mind for you, the homeowner, and the environment. The secret is in the engineered chamber design.

SideWinder sidewall.
The Equalizer 24 chamber features the patented SideWinder sidewall. This unique design has over twice the leaching sidewall area below the invert than exists in a same-length stone and pipe system. The continuous louvers of the chamber sides wind fully around the sidewall, offering maximum infiltration. The Equalizer 24 chamber also features a completely open chamber bottom which provides over twice the effective downward infiltration of a conventional system, where stone restricts the movement of effluent into the soil. Leaching chambers are a tested and proven technology with over 310,000 systems installed over the past 20 years. The SideWinder sidewall and the open-bottom chamber work together to provide a leaching system that is 43% more efficient than 2-foot conventional installation of the same length.
  End plate options.
There are two Equalizer 24 end plates available to meet different system inlet designs: the raised invert and standard invert. The raised end plate is most often used, with its invert at 9.25" up from the bottom of the trench (for a typical 4" SDR35 pipe). The standard end plate's invert is 3.25" and is ideal when the depth of the trench is restricted due to a high water table, rock, or some other limiting factor. An internal splash plate is built into each end plate design, so splash plates are not necessary.

High-density polyethylene construction.
Equalizer 24 chambers are molded of high-density PolyTuff polyethylene. This proprietary blend constructed with a large percentage of recycled resin, is formulated for high strength and chemical resistance. The chambers are impervious to wastewater constituents and stabilized to resist ultraviolet light. Infiltrator chambers are manufactured using an exclusive patented process to assure consistent high quality. These combined factors make Infiltrator chambers the toughest, most reliable chambers in the industry

AASHTO H-10 and H-20 load ratings.
Equalizer 24 chambers have been structurally tested by a registered professional engineer. The chambers are available with an AASHTO rating of H-10 (16,000 lb/axle with 12" of compacted cover) for typical septic use. An H-20 rating (32,000 lb/axle

Mack Industries Home Aeration Service FAQ

Q: Approximately what does an aerator cost?

A: We service two brands of aerators, Jet Aerators and Norweco Singulair Aerators. Both brands are date coded by Serial Number. To determine the cost of a replacement aerator, we would need to know the Model Number of the unit and the Serial Number to give you an accurate replacement cost.

Q: Does the Aerator have to run continuously?

A: Jet Aeration Systems must run continuously. This has been determined by your local Health Department. Singulair Aeration Systems must run continuously only in certain counties. To determine if your County allows intermittent operation, you must contact your local Health Department.

Q: How often does my Aeration System need to be serviced?

A: Manufacturers recommendations on service visits are bi-annual. The filter should be serviced every 6 months and the aerator should be inspected and serviced at the same time.

Q: Is there any preventive maintenance that I, as the homeowner, can do?

A: The only preventive maintenance that will help prolong the life of your aerator is monthly inspections of your aerator. This entails turning off the main power supply to the system and removing the aerator from the tank. This will enable you to remove any debris that may have accumulated on the aerator shaft.
The main preventive measures would be to watch what is put into the system. Never introduce non-biodegradable and/or toxic materials into the system. In addition, you should never connect water softener backwash, roofing downspouts, garage/basement drains or basement sump pump piping to the system. This will interfere will the biological treatment and effectiveness of your system.

Q: How often does my Aeration System need to be Pumped-Out?

A: Under normal use, your Aeration System should be pumped-out every 3-5 years. Upon our service inspections, we will inspect the pretreatment chamber and advise the homeowner if pumping will be necessary. We currently do not provide a pumping service. A local pumping company can be located in the Yellow Pages of your telephone directory or call for referral. If you have a 500 gpd. Aeration System, you will need to tell the pumper that your system has a capacity of approximately 1300 gallons.

Q: Can I Landscape over the Aeration Tank?

A:Yes, but, please keep in mind that this system must be serviced every six months. Access must be provided to the tank and all of the covers. The top of each cover must be at least 6 inches above finished grade and there may be no obstructions above or around the Aeration Tank that would prevent servicing.

Q: After the Singulair 2-Year Warranty Period, How do I get service?

A: As you know, there is a Warranty Period which includes Service and Filter changes every 6-months for the first 2-years of operation. After the initial Warranty Period has expired, a Renewable Service Policy may be purchased. This policy may be renewed annually to keep your system operating at peak performance and may also prevent expensive and annoying breakdowns.

Q: What Type of System do I have?

A: The type of system can be identified by looking at the Control-Panel. The Manufacturers name will appear on the front of the panel.
